From 15 September 2012, the monthly subscription fee for Featured (and until it’s retired, Basic) Stores will increase from $24.95 to $49.95.
This increase has become necessary as the fee changes made earlier this year (most of which were reductions) incentivised more sellers than expected to take advantage of Stores pricing. Buyers have different expectations about the service they receive when dealing with businesses compared to individual sellers, and Stores on eBay have become the easiest way for buyers to identify a business.
This new subscription fee is aimed at allowing the more serious businesses on eBay to continue operating a Store, while individual sellers should consider taking advantage of the 30 free listings* available every month.
We encourage you to consider operating a Store if you are running a business on eBay.com.au. Learn more about the benefits of operating an eBay Store.

It is optional for any seller to subscribe to a Store. You can unsubscribe from a Store at any time. If you choose to continue with your Store subscription, the new fee will automatically appear on your invoice (pro-rated from 15 September). We encourage you to consider whether operating a Store is necessary for you in selling on eBay.com.au
There are no further fee changes scheduled for 2012.
The new fee comes into effect at 00:00:01 (midnight + 1s) on 15 September 2012 AEST. Monthly Store subscription fees will be pro-rated from 15 September and will automatically appear on your invoice.
As announced in March, in an effort to simplify selling for sellers, the Basic Store will be retired later this year. The functionality and ‘extras’ available within Basic and Featured Stores are very similar, making fees the primary reason people choose one over the other.
In most instances, cancellation of your Store subscription is instant and you can discontinue your subscription anytime you like. However, the following rules apply:
Please note that all your Buy it Now listings will automatically end when you cancel your Store subscription. Auction listings will remain active.
